ABOUT US
Men of Action Brothers of Faith began in July of 2010, and started as a twice a month get together with 5 men who decided to simply talk and share family, work, and life experiences in a safe haven where they could speak freely, confidentially, and offer counsel and also encourage each other.
What does an engineer, a nurse, a retiree, a maintenance driver, a communications specialist, an electrician, and a youth counselor all have in common? Collectively, they realized how blessed they were and had a desire to give back and help those who are less fortunate than them. They make up the organization called Men of Action Brothers of Faith whose primary mission is one of service and giving.

Born out of a barbershop, a group of men got together and forged a brotherhood that has evolved into a non-profit organization that focuses on mentoring, education, and community improvement events. To date, we have created everything from STEM events for children to volunteer community events. Our diverse events have included
hosting interactive mentoring luncheons to free computer workshops. In an on-going effort to improve the
quality of life in the communities in which we live, we host a sit-down dinner every Thanksgiving and
feed up to 200 people. We also adopt underprivileged families during the holidays and provide
toys for children and food for the families.
Our Goal is to Identify and Cultivate the Next Generation of Leaders
MENTORING
Mentoring is one of the most important activities that MOABOF carries out in support of our mission. Burgers for Boys is the event for young men and Grilling for Girls is the counterpart for the young ladies. Youth between the ages of 9 and 19 are invited to participate in an interactive mentoring workshop and luncheon. Carefully screened volunteers who are experts in various fields donate their time to speak to the youth about a variety of topics. The volunteer speakers at past events have included elected officials, lawyers, doctors, and community leaders selected by MOABOF leadership.

The workshop is interactive in that the youth are encouraged to speak and talk about the issues and concerns that matter to them. There is an extended question and answer session which facilitates important dialogue and feedback. The final part of the workshop is the pairing session where the youth are paired with a mentor for follow-up and ongoing communication.
